How to cope with inventory shortages

The numerous inventory shortages caused by the pandemic have become a frustrating reality for both merchants and consumers. Unfortunately, it looks like they will be a part of our daily lives for a while. Here are some tips that we hope will help you get through the turmoil:

  1. Order early. Don't wait to finish a product if you want to keep taking it.
  2. Order two or three units of a product if you plan to take it for a long time. It may not be available the next time you need it.
  3. Ask your health care professional to suggest one or two alternatives for each product he/she recommends you take.
  4. Because of their higher quality standards, some brands have more difficulty sourcing their raw materials than others. Here are a few brands that currently have a very low backorder rate (less than 5%) or return times: Ortho Molecular Products, New Roots Herbal, Metagenics, AOR, Alterra, HerbalGem, Pranarom, Viazen. Reduce the risk of disappointment by choosing these brands.

We guarantee that we will refund your item if it is returned in saleable condition in its original packaging with the receipt within 30 days of purchase. Purchases made in person cannot be refunded unless they are accompanied by the original receipt. A restocking fee of 20% of the returned product’s price will automatically be applied to the returned product. Shipping fees are non-refundable. All refunds shall be made according to the original payment method. For example, purchases made by credit or debit card will have the refund applied to the original card. For hygiene and safety reasons, probiotics cannot be exchanged or refunded.

In-person returns

All purchases can be returned in person to La Parapharmacie, located at 5412 Avenue du Parc, in Montreal. The item(s) will be inspected on site and the eligibility for return will be evaluated by our staff. If the item was bought in person and is eligible for a refund, the refund will be issued using the same method as the original payment. If the item was bought via telephone or the Internet and is eligible for a refund, the refund will be issued within 72 business hours after receiving the item at La Parapharmacie.

Returns by mail

To return an item by mail, contact La Parapharmacie by email or telephone and mention the identification number of your order, whether you made your order online, by telephone or in person, the reason for the return, and the condition of the items to be returned. Following a determination of the acceptability of the return, our staff will send you a return number. Write this number on the return package in order to facilitate the return process. The return of goods is at the purchaser's expense, unless otherwise specified. The refund (subject to the general conditions of refund, including the 20% restocking fee) on eligible products will not be made until after their reception and inspection. In cases where a non-refundable product is returned, or if a refundable item is returned but does not meet the conditions of refund (for example, if the seal is broken), La Parapharmacie will advise the client by email or by telephone. If the client would then like to reclaim their item, they can pick it up at the counter within 5 business days of receipt of the notification that their refund has been rejected. The client must provide proof of identification to be able to reclaim their item. If the item has not been claimed within 5 business days of the notice, it may be destroyed and no compensation will be issued.
