Bio-Gest® is a comprehensive blend of digestive enzymes which aims at aiding digestion. It contains a blend of hydrochloric acid (HCl), pepsin, pancreatin, and ox bile which helps to promote digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Ox bile is added to promote fat digestion. This product benefits to individuals with occasional indigestion.
Suggested Use
Take 1-2 capsules with each meal or as recommended by a health-care practitioner.
Ingredients
Two Capsules Contain:
Medicinal Ingredients: - Betaine Hydrochloride* 480 mg - L-Glutamic Acid Hydrochloride 480 mg - Pancreatin (Porcine) 140 mg - Ox Bile concentrate 80 mg - Pepsin (Porcine) 70 mg
Other Ingredients: Hypromellose (derived from cellulose) capsule, Leucine, Silicon Dioxide.
Betaine Hydrochloride derived from a non-plant source. This product is not diluted with lactose. Individuals with porcine allergies should not take this product.
The Pancreatin in one capsule contains no less than: - Amylase 15,750 USP Units - Protease 14,000 USP Units - Lipase 2,450 USP Units
Cautions
This product is contraindicated in an individual with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
If pregnant, consult your health-care practitioner before using this product.
Bio-Gest should not be used concurrent with H2-blocking drugs and proton pump inhibitors because these drugs are intended to block the production of stomach HCl.
Bio-Gest should be used with caution in an individual with a history of a peptic or duodenal ulcer.
It is not recommended to remove the Bio-Gest powder from the capsule to take orally, as it can be irritating to the oral mucosa.
