Coconut oil contains a natural blend of MCTs with the most predominant fatty acid being lauric acid. Coconut oil’s effectiveness in boosting metabolism is mostly due to the fast transit of MCTs through the body, with limited storage in fat cells. MCTs are transformed into medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) in the digestive tract which allows them to be easily absorbed directly into the blood.
